The City of Kankakee was awarded a Safe Routes to School grant. The project will improve Court Street (IL-17) from Orchard Avenue to approximately 225 feet west of Hunter Avenue. Some of the improvements include 2 flashing beacons with speed feedback signs and pedestrian buttons with countdown timer.
