Kankakee County Rural Public Transit
Kankakee County offers rural public transportation to serve the rural areas of the county. Kankakee County has partnered with SHOW BUS Public Transportation which has been providing rural public transit in Kankakee County since 1999. What makes rural transit different from urban transit is a rural transit trip has one or both ends in the rural area (or outside the Kankakee Urbanized Area). In general, that means one or both ends must be outside Aroma Park, Bourbonnais, Bradley, Kankakee, or Manteno.
SHOW BUS publishes a rider's guide that gives general rules for rural transit service, along with answers to frequently asked questions. SHOW BUS also publishes a Regular Route Schedule for rural transit service, stating which days of the week each community in Kankakee County is scheduled for service. For demand response service, calls must be made to SHOW BUS at 1-800-525-2454 in order to schedule a ride.
An hourly deviated fixed route service is also available, which offers public transit between downtown Kankakee and Momence with a stop in Sun River Terrace. For further information, please see the Momence Service Schedule. If you have questions about the service, you may call SHOW BUS as 1-800-525-2454.
